Peter Pan School Production

In September 2017 we launched the auditions for the whole school production of Peter Pan.
70 students attended and auditioned for a main part in the show. From Year 13 right down to the new Year 7’s. We knew from that moment that it was going to be a good show year as the students showed their appreciation and respect for every single person in the room that evening. We then had the hard job of putting the show together. Every Monday after school we would rehearse until 6.00pm, the students giving it their all and performing to their maximum potential. Show week fasted approached and before we knew it we had done an eventful technical rehearsal and was on to the dress rehearsal. On the 12th March 2018 we had 270 people in Tylers Hall for the dress rehearsal, this included two local primary schools, TVS and the local community of senior citizens. The team of red shirts were amazing and represented the school well. Wednesday 14th March to Saturday 17th March saw the performances to parents, friends, students and staff. The cast were so professional every night and supported each other in every way they could. They became a family throughout the process and I know are missing each other this week. ‘What do I do now without Peter Pan?’

Peter Pan could not have been successful without the support of many staff members. Thank you to all of those that were involved in putting the show together, from lighting and staging, to ticket selling to sorting out back stage, to playing the piano constantly, to setting up chairs to making props, to moving the detentions so we could use the space. Thank you to you all and a big thank you to all the parents, friends, students and staff that came to watch the show.

Amazing job to the cast of Peter Pan 2018!

KHS is excited to announce that this year’s school product is Peter Pan!
Over the last two weeks we were holding a number of workshops and auditions to launch the production. The auditions for the cast had an amazing turn out with over 60 students performing on stage for the chance of a main role. The Schools’ expressive art department is thrilled to have so many talented students at Kingsbury High School and it was great to see them shine. The audition panel had a great time and really enjoyed the evening.
Special thank you to the Six Formers for their help and the staff that attended and supported the evening. Congratulations to all the students involved in the production, we are excited to work with you all and make this our best show yet.
Save the date, the show dates are 12th March 2018 to the 17th March 2018.

Lest We Forget – School Production

lest_we_forget_poster_221113_webWe are looking forward to our production, “Lest we forget”, which commemorates the one hundredth anniversary of the start of the First World War, the so called “war to end all wars”, the ending of which produced just twenty-one years of peace in Europe despite having cost millions of lives. We will be putting on a short piece of drama devised by one of our staff, Clare Reavey, interspersed with dance pieces and songs from the period.

Tickets go on sale on Wednesday 12th March and will be available to buy from Heads of Year offices. Visitors to the school can buy their ticket(s) on the door.

School Production – Summer Holiday

Congratulations to all the staff and students involved in the Kingsbury High School production of Summer Holiday.

Mr Hale, Musical Director of the show, said, “The school production is a great opportunity to celebrate success across the whole school. We’ve also been so fortunate to have fantastic Year 10s and 11s who have had so much coursework and exams to study for, yet rarely complain. They have been great to work with in rehearsals and have been helping to construct staging and scenery on Saturdays.

It is really pleasing that our students recognise the immeasurable value of being in a production such as this and the skills and characteristics they develop and gain from the experience.”
