“Second star to the right and straight on ’til morning. ” (J.M. Barrie, Peter Pan)

KHS is excited to announce that this year’s school product is Peter Pan!
Over the last two weeks we were holding a number of workshops and auditions to launch the production. The auditions for the cast had an amazing turn out with over 60 students performing on stage for the chance of a main role. The Schools’ expressive art department is thrilled to have so many talented students at Kingsbury High School and it was great to see them shine. The audition panel had a great time and really enjoyed the evening.
Special thank you to the Six Formers for their help and the staff that attended and supported the evening. Congratulations to all the students involved in the production, we are excited to work with you all and make this our best show yet.
Save the date, the show dates are 12th March 2018 to the 17th March 2018.

Music, Dance & Drama Performance Evening

Thursday 3rd December saw over 70 students performing in the Music, Dance & Drama Performance Evening at Kingsbury High School. The evening consisted of a range of performances of an extremely high quality from individuals, pairs as well as larger ensembles.

There was a full audience of family, friends, staff and students who thoroughly enjoyed the evening and were full of praise with many commenting on how much the students have developed their skills during their time at Kingsbury High School.

Mr Fuller who was in attendance said “This was my first time coming to the Music, Dance & Drama Performance Evening and I’ll definitely be back next year! I was very impressed with what was a true variety show. The solo choreography was amazing and the group dances were polished and really exciting to watch. I enjoyed the guitar, brass and piano ensembles, and even the transition between acts was very professional and kept the pace of the evening moving nicely. Clearly a lot of time and effort had been put in by the students and their teachers”.

Jumana, one of the talented Year 10 GCSE Dance students said “My group and I have worked a lot on our street dance but at the end it all paid off and the applause was just overwhelming”.
If you want to see more Music, Dance & Drama please come to see the school production of Fame which runs from the 3rd to the 6th February.

Lest We Forget – School Production

lest_we_forget_poster_221113_webWe are looking forward to our production, “Lest we forget”, which commemorates the one hundredth anniversary of the start of the First World War, the so called “war to end all wars”, the ending of which produced just twenty-one years of peace in Europe despite having cost millions of lives. We will be putting on a short piece of drama devised by one of our staff, Clare Reavey, interspersed with dance pieces and songs from the period.

Tickets go on sale on Wednesday 12th March and will be available to buy from Heads of Year offices. Visitors to the school can buy their ticket(s) on the door.
