Last night KHS saw the Year 13s return to the school to celebrate their achievements during the Sixth Form Reunion and Awards Ceremony 2017. The evening started in the library where students, parents, guardians and staff enjoyed some refreshments whilst talking about their time at the school and what the future may bring. This was followed by the main presentation in K Hall. Everyone enjoyed a video showing their highlights and time at the school and sixth form, bringing back some great memories from the past. To conclude the evening, staff presented the Subject Awards of Excellence, Enrichment Awards and Special Awards. Well done to all of the Year 13s and good luck with your A Level results.
On Wednesday 16th December 2015, former students were invited back to Kingsbury High School to attend an Awards Evening.
The evening was made up with a mixture of nostalgia, as alumni looked back at photographs of their time at Kingsbury High School; pride, as they collected their awards; entertainment, as they watched current students perform in a musical interlude; and reunion, as they were reunited with their old classmates.
Awards included Achievement in the Face of Adversity; the Most Outstanding Contribution to the Life of the School; and Outstanding Public Service.
Gopi Vekaria, who left last year and is currently working as an apprentice at the school, won Most Outstanding Contribution to the Life of the School. Speaking about the evening, she said “It was a beautiful and inspirational evening and to be invited was an honour. It was lovely to see so many friends who came back from university and to catch up with them. What made my evening was receiving such a meaningful award and I am touched and humbled by how the staff have regarded my efforts and commitment. It has made me who I am today and I will be forever grateful. Thank you Kingsbury.”
