Year 12 students interested in Computer Science as a future career or to learn more about computing as part of an engineering degree, took up the opportunity on Tuesday 10 October to attend a lecture by Professor Nick Jennings, Chair of Artificial Intelligence and former advisor to government on national security. The lecture provided a genuine flavour or what high-powered talks are like at top universities. Hamza Butt, Wahab Rahmani, Yousif Habib, and Lucas Cochrane attended the lecture. Mr Senior commented, ‘We attend the evening lecture programme every year at Imperial College to support our STEM students. Not only are the lectures fascinating, they are also key in helping students find our what degree area they wish to study. The lectures are provided free to students and the SixthForm pays to be part of the lecture series because our high performing STEM students really value it. Students use the lectures to help them in their personal statement so that is another key benefit. Our next lecture is on Quantum Physics.
