On the 21st of September 2012, Year 11 students; Krupa Gaglani, Chantay Louis, Shriya Gadher, Abigail Brown, Lora Abagero, Abrar Ali, Naren Kondhia, Tara Neli, Oula, Yousaf, Zoe Yerolemou, Radhika Parmar and Shadia Bakar; along with their Heads of Year, Ms Day and Ms Prince, held a charity cake sale in aid of cancer research.
At the lunchtime event, we managed to raise more than £350. This was helped especially by Head Teacher, Mr Waxman, who bought a number of cakes and then handed them out to students!
We chose cancer research as our charity because it is extremely close to our hearts
and we believe that supporting the research of cancer is an important trust. Statistics show
that in 2008, 7.6 million people died of cancer – 13% of all deaths worldwide. This had a
major impact on all of our lives. It has been an eye opener and has taught us how to value
our lives, especially considering that many of us have had close friends and even family that have gone through this traumatic experience.
Special thanks should go to fellow student, Kavi Bhatt for contributing £10.00 towards this cause.
