Kingsbury High School student, Shawna-Lee Lewin, has won a £10,000 prize for the school in an art competition. Kingsbury High School submitted art work by students to the competition organised by Viking office stationers. The competition brief was to create an image that ‘reflect what students like about their school’. Shawna-Lee’s entry beat over 3,000 entries from schools across the UK.
The prize money will go towards a sculpture garden that ‘represents how the school respects and embraces its cultural identity’. Shawna-Lee also received prizes which were presented to her by Viking representative, Account Manager, Lee Weber in the Kingsbury High School sixth form assembly on Monday 5th December 2011. Shawna-Lee said “I was really happy to enter and to have won, to give something back to the school.”
Shawna Lee’s winning entry has been featured on the front cover and in the month of June of the 2012 Viking for Schools calendar.
Mr Weber said “I look forward to seeing the results of the sculpture garden.”
